Kerstconcert 2013: 12 december
The Arenbergochestra in a nutshell
The Arenberg Orchestra is a symphonic student orchestra in Leuven, Belgium. We play a variety of pieces, ranging from well-known classical pieces to modern film music. Apart from the music, the general atmosphere is also very important to us. That is why, next to concerts, we organize parties , rehearsal weekends and concert trips as well.
Rehearsals
Every Thursday from 7.45 until 10 p.m. we rehearse at the Ensemblezaal in the STUK building, Naamsestraat 96, Leuven.
Concerts
Every semester we end with a concert. In spring, we even play two concerts.. Our programme contains a wide variety of music, ranging from film music over jazz to classical. The most important thing for us, however, is to have fun and to enjoy playing music.
Entertainment
Apart from the weakly rehearsals, there is plenty of time for more amusement: the orchestra organizes cocktail parties, movie nights, rehearsal weekends and even concert trips. Before each rehearsal we often eat together at Alma 2, 6.45 pm. After each rehearsal we frequently go to the ‘Downtown Jack’, which is a local bar.
Presence
In the Arenberg Orchestra there are no auditions. Everyone who plays an instrument suited for an orchestra, is welcome. Because of the fact that everyone can join, presence and participation are of great importance to us.
Scores
Our members can find their music sheets at the members’ section of our website, where they can be printed. Here you can also find pictures, recordings of our concerts lots more.
